Dougal Dixon has been a full-time writer and editor since 1980 and has more than forty books
and encyclopedias to his credit. He is widely recognized for his novel perspectives of the
fundamental concepts of evolution.
When not tracking dinosaurs, Mr. Dixon can be found at the movies and is a amateur filmmaker
with a particular penchant for animated subjects. He spent most of his youth in the Scottish
borderlands around Drumfries, where he was born in 1947. He earned his bachelor and Master
of Science degrees in geology from the University of St. Andrews in Fife and now resides in
Wareham, England, with his wife, Jean, and their two children, Gavin and Lindsay.
